The Global Product Manager is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of the endotamponade products, from ideation to commercialization and phase-out. The role defines and executes the global product strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. This includes assessing market and customer needs, monitoring product performance, and providing data-driven recommendations that strengthen competitive positioning and guide long-term planning.
Working closely with Marketing, Regulatory /Quality/Clinical/Medical Affairs, Operations, R&D, and regional commercial teams, the role ensures that development priorities, market readiness plans and commercial initiatives are aligned across the organization. This work supports global growth, drives effective lifecycle management, and builds a future-ready endotamponade portfolio.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop product strategies for the endotamponade portfolio, including market research to identify clinical needs, define product requirements, and managing the full product lifecycle.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive dynamics to inform product positioning, pricing direction, and segment prioritization, ensuring a differentiated portfolio.
- Act as a key liaison between global, regional, and country teams to facilitate alignment, ensure consistent communication, and support coordinated activities across functions.
- Contribute to global commercialization and market adoption plans, collaborating with Marketing to develop value propositions, messaging, and customer-facing materials.
- Support budget planning for product initiatives and track KPIs (e.g., growth, market share, margin) to monitor category performance, providing clear reporting and strategic insights to senior management.
- Engage with regional product and marketing teams, as well as commercial partners, to gather customer feedback, understand local market needs, and support technical or product-related inquiries.
- Ensure product activities comply with global and regional regulatory and quality requirements by working closely with Regulatory, Quality, Clinical Affairs, and Legal for existing products and lifecycle updates.
- Partner with R&D, Clinical/Medical Affairs, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to support development, readiness, and execution activities related to new products, lifecycle changes, transitions, and portfolio harmonization.
Skills, know-how and experience:
- Ability to develop product strategies aligned with market trends and organizational goals, combined with analytical skills to interpret market data and customer insights, ensuring a customer-centric approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across diverse departments, fostering effective relationships with stakeholders and project teams, and managing the product lifecycle and harmonization activities within defined development and operational processes.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic environments, face challenges creatively, present initiatives to senior management, and demonstrate high responsibility, reliability, and self-motivation.
- Understanding of commercialization processes and go-to-market strategies, proficiency in product management and KPI tracking, and familiarity with global regulatory and legal requirements related to product development and lifecycle decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and manage relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and other key external stakeholders.
Technical / professional qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Life Sciences or Business Management ; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in product management within healthcare, pharma, or medical devices, with demonstrated ability to design and execute go-to-market strategies and drive successful market adoption.
- Background in ophthalmic products is considered a strong plus.
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
- International travel may be required depending on project needs.
