Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Designing production and assembly processes and introducing them on the production floor (NPI) 
  • Assessing design solutions for manufacturability (DFA, DFT)
  • Establishing process specifications
  • Applying strong technical expertise in areas such as mechanical design, GD&T, technical drawings and work instructions
  • Supporting the development of machinery and the design and manufacture of assembly and test tools
  • Setting up maintenance plans (TPM) for process equipment and machinery, in collaboration with the Maintenance Coordinator
  • Preparing risk analyses for assembly and test processes (PFMEA)
  • Investigating and resolving production process issues (RCA, DMAIC)
  • Supervising and assessing 0-series and recording the results
  • Preparing production documentation such as construction dossiers, assembly manuals and work instructions
  • Training and supervising production personnel and final inspectors in production
  • Analyzing and resolving mechanical issues related to machines and equipment
  • Reporting on project progress, including hours spent and milestones achieved

Knowledge and Experience

  • Familiarity with Medical Device regulations and standards (ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 10993, etc.)
  • Expertise in Design for Assembly and Design for Testing (DFA, DFT)
  • Experience with the design and construction of process aidStrong ability to read and interpret technical production drawings
  • Experience with process data analysis and related software
  • Knowledge of process risk management (PFMEA, control plans)
  • Skilled in preparing technical and production documentation (construction files)
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Min. Bachelor’s degree (master degree is a pre) in a technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Product Design — or an equivalent level obtained through relevant work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a role involving collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in a Medical Devices production environment
